About BONNIE RINIER
I am an artist and watercolor instructor. I love all things to do with art. In the third grade, my teacher admired a crayon drawing I made of a swan and lily pads. Her positive comments made me want to create art from then on. I now teach watercolor and drawing. I love to share what I've learned and draw out of others that fascination with art that we all had as children. A quote from Pablo Picasso sits over my desk in my studio: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."
Many of my students can remember teachers or other students who made critical comments about their artwork. When this happens, many beginning artists have the urge to quit. I always encourage my students: “Never give up”. I always find something positive to remark about my students’ work. This quote from Henry Van Dyke describes this even better: "Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best."
I'm thankful for the talents I possess and acknowledge they come from God. I guess that is why my favorite subjects are the animals He's created.
